September Component of the Month

And another month just flew that it's already time for another Component of the Month reveal, hosted by Laney Mead, one of my Art Elements teammates. She made these super cute ZomBEES, which are so dainty and adorable, I didn't want to overpower mine with too much "stuff." I seriously considered making a simple child's necklace to give to a friend's 3 year old daughter, but decided against it because that seemed like cheating.

So instead I decided to make a fibula. But I wanted it to be on the small side compared to what I usually do. This is the design I came up with.

It has a couple minor technical issues to work out, but overall I like the size and the design.

I kept the dangle simple so the zombee would be the focus, using a black swarovski bead and drop.

This is a blog hop, so go see what the other talented people created with their zombees!

Beautiful I would never have thought to put it on a pin, I love it!

I love seeing my beads in the hands of others, they seem so much more 'grown up'! I love that fibula :D

I bet it will get lots of comments!

That's a really lovely design Jen... I would wear that lots!

Very clever and effective design = great way to add some fun to an outfit.

That's very cute! I wouldn't have thought to do that!

Susan Kennedy

It is very cute! I wouldn't have thought of doing a fibula either, but so cute!

That is wicked cool. Its pin/brooch correct? It really plays up the bee bead! Id love a tutorial on that....

Your fibula is so darling! I'd have never thought to make a pin with it, so your idea is brilliant! Love the simplicity and the way it puts all the focus on the bee.

Karen Totten

I love the simplicity of your piece! It's going to look fabulous on a jacket or bag!
